Loss Control Officer (Mall Stores)

You'll catch shoplifting and stock losses at a supermarket in East London before they cost jobs. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

Location: East London, Eastern Cape. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Share trends with the store manager each week
• Attend court as a witness when a case goes to trial
• Review CCTV footage to confirm suspected theft
• Walk the floor in plain clothes and watch for shoplifting behaviour
• Detain suspects lawfully and call SAPS, then write a statement
• Record every incident with photos, times and value of goods
• Tag high-value stock and check security tags at the doors

• PSIRA registration, Grade C at least
• Knowledge of lawful arrest and search under the Criminal Procedure Act
• Discreet, observant and honest
• Matric or equivalent NQF Level 4
• Available for retail hours including month-end weekends

• Experience giving evidence in court
• Understanding of stock systems and shrinkage reports
• Previous store detective experience with case outcomes
