Machine Assistant (Plastics Moulding)

Good factory hands stay for years, and this soft drink bottling plant in Fourways trains from day one. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The site is in Fourways; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Move full bins and crates to the next station with a trolley
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones

• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
