Machine Assistant (Plastics Moulding) – Entry Level

Good factory hands stay for years, and this soft drink bottling plant in Randburg trains from day one. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

The site is in Randburg; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product

• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage

• NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
• Some basic first-aid training
• A food handler or basic HACCP awareness certificate

• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets
• Company transport on some night shifts
• Path to machine operator after six months

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
