Machine Assistant (Plastics Moulding) – Fixed-Term

You'll keep the line running at a soft drink bottling plant in Tembisa, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a soft drink bottling plant in Tembisa. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line

• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area

• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• Some basic first-aid training

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
