Machine Operator (Catalytic Converter Plant)

Work on the line where every station counts, at the automotive component manufacturer in Vereeniging. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Vereeniging. Relocation is not covered for this one. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Record production counts and scrap on the shift board
• Wear the correct PPE, including gloves, glasses and ear protection
• Follow standard work sheets and quality checkpoints at every step
• Keep your station clean using 5S rules
• Pull the andon cord when a defect or safety issue appears
• Rotate between stations as the team leader plans

• Can follow written and visual work instructions
• Lives close enough to reach the plant on time for every shift
• Good eyesight and hand coordination
• Willing to work rotating shifts, including nights
• Able to stand for a full shift and do repeat tasks without losing focus

• NQF 2 in Automotive Manufacturing and Assembly through merSETA
• Basic computer skills
• Previous experience in an automotive plant

• Transport from nearby townships on some routes
• Staff canteen with subsidised meals
• Learnership opportunities toward an artisan trade

• Many plants recruit through learnerships first. Watch for merSETA learnership adverts and apply early.
• Include any factory or line work you have done, even outside the car industry. It shows you can handle shift work.
