Maintenance Artisan (Shopping Centre)

Every day is different here: small repairs, painting and planned maintenance at the retirement village in Bellville. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is a retirement village on the Bellville side of Western Cape. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Check fire extinguishers, emergency lights and escape routes on a monthly checklist
• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used

• At least 2 years of general building maintenance work you can back up with references
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Available for the occasional weekend emergency

• Pool and borehole pump experience
• Experience with a work order system on a phone app

• Training on specialised equipment like gate motors and pool plant
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
• Meals on duty at hotel sites

• Do not claim electrical work you are not licensed to sign off. Say "basic electrical, no DB work" instead.
