Maintenance Artisan (Shopping Centre)

Handy with a drill, a paintbrush and a tap washer? The retirement village in Roodepoort has a list waiting for you. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

You'll report in Roodepoort. Relocation is not covered for this one. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Service pool pumps, gate motors and garage door openers
• Patch, sand and paint walls, doors and ceilings between tenants
• Work through the maintenance log each morning and prioritise urgent requests
• Change globes, fluorescent tubes and plug covers (no DB work)
• Lay and repair floor tiles and re-grout wet areas
• Clear gutters and fix minor roof leaks with sealant
• Keep the maintenance store tidy and track stock used

• Available for the occasional weekend emergency
• Basic painting, tiling, plumbing and carpentry skills
• Grade 10 at least; matric is a plus
• Honest and trusted to work inside occupied units
• Your own tools are a plus, but safe tool handling is a must
• Code 08 licence to run errands to the hardware store

• Meals on duty at hotel sites
• On-site accommodation at some estates
• Uniform and safety boots supplied
