Management Accountant (Retail Group)

You'll own the monthly numbers for a mid-sized manufacturing group in Stellenbosch, from journals to the management pack. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

The work is in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Draft annual financial statements under IFRS or IFRS for SMEs
• Calculate provisional tax and check the VAT201 before submission
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and clear old reconciling items
• Run cash flow forecasts and manage the weekly payment run
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Improve controls, such as segregation of duties on supplier changes
• Prepare the audit file and answer auditor queries

• Understanding of South African income tax and VAT
• BCom Accounting or equivalent degree
• You meet month-end deadlines without being chased
• Experience on an ERP such as Sage X3, Sage 300, Syspro or SAP Business One

• CA(SA) with SAICA, or AGA(SA) or Professional Accountant (SA) with SAIPA
• Completed articles at an audit firm
• Consolidation experience across several companies
