Master Technician (Premium Brand Dealership) – Immediate Start

This independent service workshop in Benoni needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Benoni, Gauteng, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Update control unit software when the manufacturer releases a campaign
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Carry out roadworthy pre-checks on lights, brakes and steering
• Diagnose engine, ABS and airbag faults with an OBD-II diagnostic scanner
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs

• Your own basic toolbox
• Motor mechanic trade test certificate (Red Seal) or occupational certificate at NQF 4
• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets

• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training
• Automatic gearbox or DSG repair experience
• Air-conditioning regas experience with SAQCC Gas registration

• Staff discount on parts and services
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target
• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates

• Attach manufacturer training certificates. They can move you up a technician grade and pay band.
• If you hit or beat your sold-hour target, say by how much. Workshop managers love that number.
