Spray Painter (Waterborne Systems)

You'll bring accident-damaged cars back to factory standard at the fleet repair centre in Roodepoort. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The site is in Roodepoort; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder
• Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface
• Mix paint colours with a spectrophotometer and the mixing scheme
• Strip damaged panels, bumpers and trims and bag the fixings
• Mask up vehicles properly to keep overspray off glass and trim

• Able to work to insurer repair times and quality standards
• Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
• Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
• Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
• Good colour vision and a steady hand
• Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work

• ADAS camera and sensor recalibration after repairs
• Experience as a workshop controller in a body shop

• Full respirator and spray suit supplied

• Before-and-after photos are your best proof. Keep them on your phone, ready to show at the interview.
• Expect a practical test panel. Arrive early so you can see the booth and equipment first.
