Master Technician (Premium Brand Dealership)

This fast-fit tyre and service centre in Johannesburg CBD needs a qualified mechanic who can handle services, repairs and electrical faults. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

You'll report in Johannesburg CBD. Relocation is not covered for this one. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Write clear job card notes on what you found and what you fixed
• Do wheel alignments and balancing on the alignment bay
• Coach the apprentice on your bay through basic services
• Replace clutches, brake pads, discs, shocks and timing belts
• Road test vehicles before and after repairs
• Carry out scheduled services to the manufacturer's checklist and interval

• Neat with customer vehicles: seat covers, floor mats and no grease marks
• At least 3 years as a qualified mechanic in a dealership or workshop
• Code 08 licence so you can road test cars
• Confident with diagnostic scan tools and wiring diagrams
• Your own basic toolbox
• Able to meet flat-rate or sold-hour targets

• Brand-specific training certificates from a manufacturer academy
• High-voltage hybrid or EV safety training

• Pay at or above the motor industry bargaining council rates
• Staff discount on parts and services
• Productivity bonus on sold hours above target

• Do not leave gaps unexplained. Say if you were working for yourself or doing mobile repairs.
• If you hit or beat your sold-hour target, say by how much. Workshop managers love that number.
