Mathematics Teacher (FET Phase)

Teach at a faith-based independent school in Klerksdorp where your planning, marking and patience all count. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

The work is in Klerksdorp, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Use data projectors, smartboards or tablets where the school has them
• Plan weekly lessons against the CAPS annual teaching plan
• Handle classroom discipline with the school's code of conduct
• Attend staff meetings, subject meetings and district workshops
• Set, mark and moderate formal assessment tasks for the term
• Prepare Grade 12 learners for prelims and the NSC exams
• Supervise break duty, sport or a cultural activity each term

• At least 1 year of classroom teaching, including teaching practice
• Sound knowledge of CAPS and the assessment policy for your phase
• Clear record on the National Register for Sex Offenders and a police clearance
• Good spoken and written command of the language of teaching
• Full SACE registration (provisional registration only for student or newly qualified teachers)
• You can manage a class of 35 or more without losing control
