Job Description

A home tutoring agency in Klerksdorp needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

This post is Klerksdorp-based, with most of your time spent at a home tutoring agency. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

The work, day to day

Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
Work through past exam papers and marking memos with learners
Set practice work between sessions and check it next time

Must-haves

Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
Police clearance for work with minors
Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week

Helpful, not essential

Remedial or learning support training
TEFL or TESOL certificate for English tutoring
