Job Description

You'll help learners who are stuck finally get it, one session at a time, for a matric rewrite college in Sasolburg. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

The work is in Sasolburg, Free State, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What your day looks like

Run live video lessons with a headset, whiteboard app and stable connection
Teach one-on-one or in small groups of up to six
Write a short progress note for parents after each session
Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test
Set practice work between sessions and check it next time

What you need

Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Police clearance for work with minors
Own transport for home tutoring posts
Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week

Extra points for

Remedial or learning support training
Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
