Meat Processing Line Worker

Good factory hands stay for years, and this snack food factory in Mthatha trains from day one. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

This post is Mthatha-based, with most of your time spent at a snack food factory. There's a probation period of three months before the contract is confirmed.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Check product for size, weight and seal faults and pull out rejects
• Weigh ingredients or additives against the recipe card
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run

• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• Medically fit; some food plants ask for a medical check
• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine
• Some basic first-aid training

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Path to machine operator after six months
• Company transport on some night shifts

• Mention that you can work rotating shifts right at the top. It is the first thing most factories filter on.
• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
