Merchandiser (Grocery Rep Route)

Shoppers in Brakpan judge a liquor store by its shelves, and that is where you come in. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Brakpan-based, with most of your time spent at a liquor store. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Help customers find products and carry heavy items to cars
• Check sell-by dates and pull expired stock for the manager
• Face products so labels point forward and gaps are filled
• Build promotional displays at the ends of aisles
• Pack shelves from the back, rotating older stock to the front (first in, first out)
• Unpack deliveries in the receiving area and sort by aisle
• Visit several stores on a merchandising route and send photos of shelves

• Basic reading and maths for price checks
• Grade 10 or matric
• Available for weekends, month-end and public holidays
• Honest, since stock losses are checked closely
• Able to stand and lift cases all shift
• Polite with customers and happy to help

• Chance to move into till or department roles
• Paid training in store procedures

• If you have ever sold anything, even at a school tuck shop or a family stall, list it. It shows you are comfortable with customers.
