Mobile Crane Operator (Up to 50 Ton)

The quarry and aggregate supplier in Atlantis needs an operator who looks after the machine as well as the job. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

This post is in Atlantis (Western Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Cut and trim road layers to level with the grader
• Grease the machine daily and report leaks or damage straight away
• Watch for underground services and follow the banksman's signals
• Backfill and compact around pipes in layers
• Do the pre-start checklist on your machine before the first bucket

• At least 2 years operating the machine on construction sites
• Medical certificate of fitness for operating mobile plant
• Operator certificate for the machine class, from an accredited training provider
• Can read grade pegs and understand cut and fill

• PrDP for tipper or lowbed work
• Basic plant maintenance or mechanical knowledge

• Refresher training on new machines
• Overtime paid on all hours past 45 a week
• Travel home paid at the end of each site shift cycle
• Camp accommodation or a living-out allowance on remote sites

• You will likely do a practical test on the machine. Do the walk-around check out loud. It shows you work safely.
• Put your operator certificate numbers on the CV. Site safety files need them before you start.
