Job Description

Write clean code, review pull requests and fix what breaks at a logistics software company in Khayelitsha. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

You'll be based at a logistics software company in Khayelitsha. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

What your day looks like

Pair with junior developers to unblock them
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Pick up tickets from the sprint board and estimate the work
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Investigate production bugs using logs and monitoring dashboards
Build and consume REST or GraphQL APIs

What you need

Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
Solid Git habits: branches, pull requests and meaningful commit messages

Nice if you have

Docker and Kubernetes experience
Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Experience in regulated sectors such as banking or medical schemes
