Job Description

Here your code runs in production, not in a drawer: a bank's digital channels team in Stellenbosch. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

Home base is a bank's digital channels team on the Stellenbosch side of Western Cape.

What you'll actually do

Join daily stand-ups and sprint planning
Write, test and refactor code in your team's main language
Design database tables and write efficient SQL queries
Write unit and integration tests before you merge
Document how your features work for support and new developers
Handle personal data safely, with POPIA rules in mind
Pair with junior developers to unblock them

What you need

A computer science or IT qualification, or a portfolio that proves you can build
You can explain technical choices to non-technical people
Experience writing automated tests
Good SQL and understanding of relational databases
Commercial experience in at least one of PHP, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript
Stable internet and a quiet workspace for remote days

Extra points for

Cloud certification on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Public GitHub portfolio or published app
