Night Auditor (City Hotel)

Running the front desk of a game lodge in Umlazi means calm service and a clean shift balance. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

Location: Umlazi, KwaZulu-Natal. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first. The first two weeks are spent shadowing someone experienced.

• Run the night audit, close the day and print the flash report.
• Answer booking emails and calls, and quote rates from the rate sheet.
• Balance your cash float and card slips before handover.
• Manage OTA bookings coming in from online travel channels.
• Quote flights, car hire and holiday packages on a GDS such as Amadeus or Galileo.

• A hospitality or tourism diploma, or 1 year at a hotel front desk
• Matric
• Confident on a computer and quick to learn a property system
• Honest with cash and card payments

• Revenue or yield management exposure
• Opera PMS or Protel certificate

• Night-shift allowance
• Service charge share at some properties
• Discounted stays across the group

• Name the property systems you have used (Opera, Protel, a GDS) in the first lines of your CV.
• If you speak a foreign language, state your level honestly; many interviews switch languages mid-chat.
