Night Shift Security Officer (Grade D)

You'll control who comes in and out of a private school campus in Midrand, and log every visitor properly. If you like clear targets and knowing where you stand, this is for you.

You'll report in Midrand. Relocation is not covered for this one. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date

• First-aid Level 1 certificate
• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Firefighting or evacuation training

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
