Nursing Assistant (Rehabilitation Unit) – Immediate Start

Here you help people wash, eat, move and heal, at a physical rehabilitation hospital in Roodepoort. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

The site is in Roodepoort; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying.

• Hand out oral medication under the supervision of a registered nurse
• Help patients bath, dress, eat and use the toilet with dignity
• Do simple wound dressings and report anything that looks infected
• Make beds, change linen and keep the rooms clean and uncluttered
• Spot confusion, falls risk or changes in mood and tell the nurse in charge

• Accredited home-based care or ancillary health care certificate for caregiver posts
• SANC enrolment as an Enrolled Nurse or Enrolled Nursing Auxiliary for nursing posts
• Physically strong enough to lift and move patients safely
• Able to work shifts, including nights and weekends
• Patient and gentle with elderly, frail or confused people

• Code B or Code 8 driver's licence for home visits
• A second South African language spoken by the patients you'll serve

• Transport home after late shifts at some facilities
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• Uniform supplied
