Occupational Health Nurse (Mine Clinic) – Immediate Start

This is a registered nursing post at a community day clinic in Boksburg, with your own patient load and a say in the care plan. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a community day clinic in Boksburg. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls
• Report adverse events and near misses on the incident system the same day
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly
• Do wound care, catheter care and IV line management to unit protocol
• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families

• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Valid BLS certificate; ACLS or PALS for ICU and emergency posts
• Clean criminal record
• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly

• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Study support for post-basic specialities
• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay

• List your speciality skills in plain words, such as "ventilated patients" or "normal deliveries", instead of just the ward name.
• Check your SANC receipt is for this year before you apply; an unpaid annual fee gets your application parked.
