Occupational Health Nurse (Mine Clinic)

Patients in this provincial district hospital in Klerksdorp count on your clinical judgement every single shift. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

The work is in Klerksdorp, North West, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Start is planned for the beginning of next month.

• Take part in ward rounds with doctors and record the new orders
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Run emergency trolley checks and respond to cardiac arrest calls
• Do wound care, catheter care and IV line management to unit protocol
• Keep clinical notes clear, timed and signed for audits and legal records

• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Calm under pressure when a patient's condition turns quickly
• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice
• Clean criminal record

• Unit manager or shift leader experience
• Post-basic qualification in critical care, theatre or advanced midwifery
• Experience with electronic patient records or bedside charting systems

• Medical aid and pension fund contributions after probation
• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
• Night-shift and weekend allowances on top of basic pay
