Occupational Health Nurse (Mine Clinic)

Bring your SANC registration and your ward experience to a step-down and sub-acute facility in Krugersdorp that needs a steady pair of hands. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a step-down and sub-acute facility on the Krugersdorp side of Gauteng. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Admit and discharge patients and explain medication and follow-up to families
• Prepare patients for theatre and receive them back from recovery
• Give scheduled medication, including Schedule 5 and 6 drugs, and sign the register
• Do full patient assessments and update nursing care plans every shift
• Monitor vital signs, fluid balance and early warning scores, and escalate changes quickly

• Solid knowledge of medication safety and the Nursing Act scope of practice
• You can work 12-hour day or night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• At least 1 year of post-community-service ward experience
• Clean criminal record
• Nursing qualification via the R425 diploma or R174 degree route

• Post-basic qualification in critical care, theatre or advanced midwifery
• IMCI and NIMART training for primary health care work

• Funded CPD points and in-house clinical training
• Paid SANC annual fees at some groups
• Study support for post-basic specialities

• For night-duty posts, say clearly in your cover note that you want permanent nights, as many applicants only want days.
