Job Description

Here your industry experience becomes lessons for the next group of learners, at a private higher education college in Kempton Park. Good for someone who wants to build a solid track record they can put on their CV.

This post is Kempton Park-based, with most of your time spent at a private higher education college.

What your day looks like

  • Assess portfolios of evidence and write clear feedback to learners
  • Run practical demonstrations in the workshop with safety briefings
  • Coach learners who are behind and plan re-assessments
  • Moderate other assessors' decisions and sign off moderation reports
  • Keep attendance registers and learner files ready for SETA verification

Must-haves

  • Computer literate in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Relevant qualification at least one NQF level above the one you'll teach
  • At least 3 years of working experience in the subject field
  • Own transport for training at client sites
  • Confident presenting to groups of 20 or more adults
  • Good report writing and record keeping

Nice if you have

  • Teaching qualification or Higher Certificate in adult education
  • Experience with learning management systems such as Moodle
  • Trade test certificate for artisan training posts
