Off-Site Video Monitoring Operator

You'll watch the screens and radios at an armed response control room in Brakpan, and send help the moment something is wrong. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

This post is Brakpan-based, with most of your time spent at an armed response control room. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations
• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them

• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher

• Shift allowance for nights
• Training on the monitoring software
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
