Off-Site Video Monitoring Operator – Fixed-Term

Night or day, a remote video monitoring centre in East London never switches off, and neither does your focus on shift. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

This post is in East London (Eastern Cape). Please only apply if you can travel there daily. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Hand over open incidents clearly at shift change
• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Track stolen vehicles on the map and guide recovery teams
• Log every event and action on the monitoring software
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Matric
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Able to stay focused through 12-hour day and night shifts

• Training on the monitoring software
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Shift allowance for nights
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
• Show you can stay alert at night. If you have done night shift before without problems, say so.
