Off-Site Video Monitoring Operator

You'll watch the screens and radios at a vehicle tracking control centre in George, and send help the moment something is wrong. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

Home base is a vehicle tracking control centre on the George side of Western Cape.

• Dispatch the nearest response vehicle over the radio
• Talk down intruders over on-site speakers when the system allows
• Report camera faults and offline sites to the technicians
• Answer alarm signals and phone clients to verify them
• Monitor live CCTV feeds and zoom in on suspicious movement
• Pull and save video footage for incident investigations

• No criminal convictions (vetting is done before you start)
• PSIRA registration, Grade C or higher
• Matric
• Computer literate and quick on a keyboard
• Good memory for sites, streets and procedures
• Clear speaking voice on radio and phone

• Shift allowance for nights
• Indoor, air-conditioned work environment
• Training on the monitoring software
• Path to senior controller or supervisor

• Some companies give a typing and map test. Practise finding streets on a map quickly before the interview.
• Mention any software you have used: alarm monitoring, CCTV or even call centre systems. Control rooms need people who learn screens fast.
