Site Security Officer (Construction Yard) – Entry Level

You'll control who comes in and out of a gated residential estate in Stellenbosch, and log every visitor properly. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at a gated residential estate in Stellenbosch. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Write every incident and shift change in the occurrence book (OB)
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Call the armed response or SAPS number from the call list when needed
• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Search vehicles and bags leaving the site when company policy requires it

• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• PSIRA registration at Grade C or higher, paid up to date
• Clean criminal record
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Uniform, boots and winter jacket issued
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Stable long-term site contracts

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
