Offloader (Container Depot)

Delivery days start early in Paarl, and a cement and brick yard needs you on the bay before the trucks roll. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a cement and brick yard on the Paarl side of Western Cape. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Get proof-of-delivery notes signed and stamped at each drop
• Assemble or place furniture where the customer asks
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Sweep the bay and clear shrink-wrap after each loading
• Strap and secure loads so nothing shifts in transit
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals

• Comfortable starting from 04:00 or working late loading shifts
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• No criminal record

• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
• Route-completion incentives in busy months

• Keep your CV to one page with your phone number big and clear. Depot managers phone, they seldom email.
• Say what hours you can start. Loading bays often hire the person who can be there at 04:00 without fail.
