Offloader (Container Depot) – Permanent

Trucks come in heavy and leave loaded at this container unpacking yard in Paarl, and you move the stock in between. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Paarl; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Ride with the driver and carry goods into customers' premises
• Load trucks from the load sheet in drop order, last stop first
• Guide trucks reversing into the bay with hand signals
• Check goods received against the delivery note and flag shorts
• Offload containers by hand, counting cartons as they come off

• Friendly with customers at the door
• Willing to travel on routes that return late
• Able to lift and carry heavy items all day
• Honest; you will be handling customer goods and cash-on-delivery slips
• Grade 9 or higher and able to read a delivery note

• Speaking more than one local language for customer drops
• Past work as a driver's assistant

• Uniform and safety shoes provided
• Meal allowance on long-route days
• Help to get your own licence through the company later
