Job Description

A matric rewrite college in Montague Gardens needs a patient tutor who can turn a failing mark into a pass. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Home base is a matric rewrite college on the Montague Gardens side of Western Cape.

What your day looks like

Write a short progress note for parents after each session
Log hours and sessions on the agency's booking system for payment
Plan sessions that target the exact topics the learner is failing
Prepare learners for control tests with short timed practice drills
Set practice work between sessions and check it next time
Adjust your pace for learners with ADHD, dyslexia or anxiety
Assess a new learner's level with a short diagnostic test

What you need

Distinction or strong pass in the subject you'll tutor
Own transport for home tutoring posts
Clear, patient way of explaining ideas
Reliable internet and a quiet place to teach for online posts
Currently studying at university, or holding a degree or diploma
Available at least three afternoons or evenings a week

Helpful, not essential

Second language for learners who study in Afrikaans or isiZulu
Experience with IEB as well as CAPS papers
