Order Picker (Cold Store)

You'll keep a busy frozen-food distribution centre in Benoni stocked, picked and moving out on time. People who do well here are steady, honest and not scared to ask when something is unclear.

The site is in Benoni; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. You'll start with a short induction before working on your own.

• Count stock during weekly cycle counts and month-end stock takes
• Move pallets with a hand pallet jack to the dispatch lane
• Report damaged, short or expired items to the shift supervisor
• Keep aisles clear of plastic, cardboard and loose pallets
• Wear thermal gear and rotate in and out of freezer zones on schedule

• Punctual, with reliable transport home after late shifts
• Grade 10 or higher; matric preferred
• Clean criminal record (most warehouses run a check)
• Willing to wear safety boots, a reflector vest and gloves
• South African ID or a valid work permit

• Living within walking or taxi distance of the warehouse
• A valid forklift or reach truck certificate
• Previous picking experience with a handheld RF scanner

• Overtime paid at time-and-a-half on weekdays
• Safety boots, overalls and freezer jackets supplied
• Chance to be trained on forklift after probation

• If you have done any stock counts, packing or even shelf work before, list it first. It shows you already know how to handle stock.
• Say clearly that you can work nights and weekends. Peak-season hiring goes to people who are available.
