Packaging Line Operator (Rotating Shifts)

Here in Roodepoort, an industrial bakery needs steady people who can repeat a task well for eight hours. Someone who likes a bit of variety, but also likes doing things the right way, will enjoy this.

You'll be based at an industrial bakery in Roodepoort. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Wear hairnets, beard covers and gloves in food-safe zones
• Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
• Change over packaging film and labels when the line switches product
• Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
• Record batch codes and counts on the hourly production sheet
• Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
• Pack finished product into cases and stack them by batch number

• Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
• Able to stand for a full shift in a noisy, warm area
• Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
• Available for rotating day and night shifts
• You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
• No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection

• Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
• Experience assisting on a packaging or filling machine

• Night-shift allowance on top of basic pay
• Staff shop with discounted factory products
• Free PPE, overalls and hairnets

• Name the products you worked on before, like "biscuit line" or "juice bottling". Factory recruiters read that faster than a job title.
• Do not wear jewellery or long nails to the interview if it is on site. Food factories notice and it counts.
