Packhouse Quality Controller (Seasonal)

You'll sort, grade and pack fruit for export at a citrus packhouse near Roodepoort. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

This post is Roodepoort-based, with most of your time spent at a citrus packhouse. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run

• Quick and neat with your hands
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Valid ID or permit
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts

• Transport from nearby towns
• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Protective clothing supplied

• Apply before the season starts, often a month before first harvest. Recruiting days fill up fast.
• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
