Job Description

Packing season at a table grape packhouse near Tzaneen means lots of shifts and lots of work. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

The site is in Tzaneen; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Most weeks are 45 hours, in line with the BCEA.

What you'll actually do

Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day

What you need

Follows hygiene rules at all times
Basic counting and reading for labels
Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
Valid ID or permit
Able to stand at a line for long shifts

Nice if you have

Forklift licence for palletising roles
Previous packhouse work
Matric for QC posts
