Packhouse Worker (Citrus Season) – Entry Level

You'll sort, grade and pack fruit for export at a citrus packhouse near Gqeberha. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

The site is in Gqeberha; early starts mean public transport timing matters, so check your route before applying. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Pack cartons to the export pattern and weight
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures

• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Arrives on time for early shifts
• Valid ID or permit
• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Quick and neat with your hands

• Matric for QC posts
• Previous packhouse work
