Job Description

This insurance-approved accident repair centre in Gqeberha needs body repair skills that pass the insurer's quality check. This is a good step for someone who wants proper routine and a manager who notices good work.

The work is in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

The work, day to day

  • Spray base coat and 2K clear coat in the booth
  • Repair dents with hammers, dollies and a stud welder
  • Cut and polish to remove dust marks and orange peel
  • Apply filler, sand and prime to a smooth, ready surface
  • Photograph repair stages for the insurance assessor

What you need

  • Panel beating or spray painting trade test, or at least 4 years of proven work
  • A portfolio or references from previous body shops
  • Experience with modern waterborne or high-solids paint systems
  • Physically able to stand, bend and kneel for long periods
  • Knowledge of spray booth safety and respirator use
  • Good colour vision and a steady hand

What you get

  • Productivity bonus per completed job
  • Full respirator and spray suit supplied
  • Clean, modern booth and prep area

How to apply

  1. Read the "What you need" list above. If you tick most of it, go ahead and apply.
  2. Get these ready, because shortlisted people are asked for them straight away: ID copy certified at a police station plus trade certificate or references.
  3. Use the form on this page. It takes about two minutes and you don't need to upload anything yet.
  4. Watch for a call or WhatsApp from How2Apply over the next 10 working days.

Your application joins the How2Apply talent pool for this role, and we put shortlisted people forward to employers hiring in and around Gqeberha.

How2Apply never charges you to apply, for training, for uniforms or for a "placement fee". If anyone asks you for money, it is a scam.

Tips to get shortlisted

  • Expect a practical test panel. Arrive early so you can see the booth and equipment first.
  • Say which paint systems you have used, like waterborne base coat with a 2K clear. Body shops care about this.
