Job Description

Every wall and slab on this school building project in Johannesburg CBD needs labourers, and the crew needs one more. Bring a calm head on busy days and you'll be fine.

Home base is a school building project on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng.

What your day looks like

Clear rubble and load it into skips
Cut and lay paving bricks along string lines
Pass tools and materials to the plumber or electrician as needed
Mix concrete and mortar by hand or with a small mixer
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts

You'll need

A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
You take safety rules seriously and wear full PPE

Previous site work you can show with a reference
