Palletiser (Export Packhouse)

Fruit from a table grape packhouse near Fourways ends up on shelves overseas, packed by your hands. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a table grape packhouse in Fourways. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Hours are mostly Monday to Friday, with the odd Saturday in busy months.

• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Keep your packing station clean and free of stems and leaves
• Follow food safety rules like hand washing and no jewellery
• Sort fruit by size, colour and blemish on the packing line
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day

• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Valid ID or permit
• Basic counting and reading for labels

• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Transport from nearby towns
• Rehire for next season if you perform well
• Protective clothing supplied

• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
• Mention the fruit you have packed before and how many seasons. Packhouses rehire the fast, careful packers.
