Job Description

You'll plant, prune and fell trees for a sawmill in the hills near Vereeniging. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.

Location: Vereeniging, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.

The work, day to day

Plant seedlings in prepared pits at the right spacing
Apply herbicide around young trees as instructed
Clear and maintain firebreaks during the dry season
Wear chainsaw chaps, helmets and ear protection at all times
Prune lower branches with pruning saws and ladders

Must-haves

Willing to work in remote areas
Follows safety rules strictly around machines and fires
Valid ID
Available for early starts and fire-season standby
