Palletiser (Export Packhouse)

Packing season at a table grape packhouse near Stellenbosch means lots of shifts and lots of work. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Stellenbosch. Relocation is not covered for this one. Start date: as soon as possible for the right person.

• Stack empty cartons and punnets ready for the next run
• Check fruit samples and record quality results on the QC sheet
• Build pallets to the correct height and strap them
• Help clean the line and machines at the end of the day
• Move pallets into cold rooms and record temperatures
• Stick labels and batch codes on each carton

• Follows hygiene rules at all times
• Quick and neat with your hands
• Available for the full packing season including Saturdays
• Basic counting and reading for labels
• Able to stand at a line for long shifts
• Arrives on time for early shifts

• Previous packhouse work
• Matric for QC posts
• Forklift licence for palletising roles

• Rehire for next season if you perform well
• Overtime pay during peak weeks
• Transport from nearby towns
• Protective clothing supplied

• Apply before the season starts, often a month before first harvest. Recruiting days fill up fast.
• If you want a QC post, bring your matric certificate and say you can write neat records.
