Paralegal (Personal Injury Claims)

Files, diaries and documents all run through you at a debt collection practice in Gqeberha. You'll work with a small crew, so being easy to work with matters as much as skill.

This post is Gqeberha-based, with most of your time spent at a debt collection practice.

• Prepare fee notes and draft invoices for review
• Prepare section 129 notices and default judgment applications
• Open new matters and do conflict checks on the practice system
• Collate and index court bundles and discovery files
• Capture payments and update debtor balances on collection matters
• Type and format letters, notices and affidavits from dictation or drafts
• Handle incoming calls and give clients straightforward progress updates

• Understanding of court rules and deadlines
• Experience on legal software such as LegalSuite, AJS or GhostPractice
• Matric plus a legal secretary or paralegal qualification
• Discreet with confidential client information
• Fast, accurate typing and strong Word formatting
• At least 2 years in a law firm or legal department

• NCR debt counsellor course
• Audio typing at 60+ words per minute
• Experience with the Master's Office for estates

• Study assistance for LLB or paralegal courses
• Year-end bonus at many firms
• Close-to-transport offices in city centres
