Parts Manager (Franchised Dealership) – Permanent

Book cars in, find the right part and keep customers informed at the franchised car dealership in Harrismith. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll report in Harrismith. Relocation is not covered for this one. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Pick, pack and issue parts to technicians against job cards
• Open job cards and explain the work and cost before it starts
• Phone customers with extra work found and get approval in writing
• Submit warranty claims with photos and technician reports
• Look up part numbers in the electronic parts catalogue using the VIN
• Handle complaints calmly and find a fix with the workshop manager
• Count stock during cycle counts and year-end stocktake

• Matric, plus a motor industry background
• Code 08 licence
• Good working knowledge of car parts and basic vehicle systems
• Calm and polite with customers, even when they are upset
• At least 2 years as a service advisor, parts interpreter or in a similar counter role
• Accurate when capturing part numbers and prices

• Brand-specific warranty system training
• Parts interpreter or service advisor course through merSETA
• Some mechanical training or a trade background

• Commission on parts sales or workshop turnover
• Paid brand training
• Monthly CSI bonus for customer ratings

• If your customer satisfaction scores were good, give the score. It is the number dealers watch most.
• Mention which dealer management system or parts catalogue you have used. It cuts down your training time.
