Patient Accounts Officer (Private Hospital)

At a private hospital admissions office in Soweto, your job is clean files, correct codes and money that comes in on time. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.

• Answer the phones and send clinical questions to the right nurse or doctor
• Chase short payments with medical schemes and patients
• Code consultations and procedures with ICD-10 and CCSA or NHRPL tariffs
• Send monthly statements and age the debtors book
• Keep patient records locked and share them only with written consent
• Request pre-authorisation for scans, procedures and admissions
• Submit claims electronically and work through the rejection report daily

• Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes
• You keep patient information private, every time
• Confident with Excel and email
• At least 2 years in a medical practice, hospital or billing bureau

• Normal practice hours with most weekends off
