Patrol Officer (Warehouse Perimeter)

Residents and staff at a distribution warehouse in Hammarsdale need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. You don't need to be the loudest person in the room, just the one others can count on.

You'll be based at a distribution warehouse in Hammarsdale. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps.

• Check visitors' IDs and capture them on the visitor app or in the gate register
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Hand out and collect contractor access cards

• Speaks and writes basic English
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred
• Able to work 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends
• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers

• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols
• Previous experience at a similar site type
• First-aid Level 1 certificate

• Stable long-term site contracts
• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Provident fund contributions

• List the types of sites you have guarded, like estate, mall or factory. Security companies place officers by site experience.
• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
