Patrol Officer (Warehouse Perimeter)

Residents and staff at a construction yard in Rosslyn need to feel safe when they arrive; that is your job. If you learn fast and don't mind being shown things twice, you'll settle in within a few weeks.

You'll be based at a construction yard in Rosslyn. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Weekend work is on a roster, so you won't be on every weekend.

• Keep the guardhouse clean and the OB up to date for the relieving officer
• Test the panic button and radio when you come on duty
• Open and close boom gates for residents, deliveries and contractors
• Patrol the perimeter on a set route and scan checkpoint tags
• Direct traffic and parking during school drop-off or big events

• Physically fit for foot patrols
• Alert, polite and firm with the public
• Clean criminal record
• Clear, neat handwriting for the OB and registers
• Speaks and writes basic English
• Grade 10 minimum; matric preferred

• Experience on estate access apps or biometric readers
• Firefighting or evacuation training
• A Code 8 licence for vehicle patrols

• Chance to be upgraded to Grade B with training
• Stable long-term site contracts
• Provident fund contributions
• Paid night-shift allowance under the security sector rules

• Make sure your PSIRA fees are paid. A lapsed registration gets your CV thrown out, even if you have years of experience.
• Arrive for the interview in neat clothes with your certificates in a plastic sleeve. It shows the discipline they want.
