Paving Layer (Interlocking Pavers)

You'll build it with your hands: walls, floors, roofs and finishes on the residential renovation company in Kariega. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.

The work is in Kariega, Eastern Cape, so you'll need a reliable way to get there every day. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

• Plaster walls and float them to a smooth, even finish
• Fix roof trusses, purlins and brandering for ceilings
• Lay face brick and plaster brick to line, level and plumb
• Prime and paint walls, ceilings and woodwork in two or three coats
• Wear your hard hat, boots and harness wherever the foreman says
• Build and strip formwork for columns, beams and slabs

• Punctual every morning, even in winter
• Willing to move between sites in the same city
• Proven experience in at least one trade, shown by references or a practical test
• Able to follow a foreman's instructions and read basic measurements

• UIF and COIDA registration from day one
• PPE supplied: hard hat, gloves, reflective vest
• Transport from a pick-up point to site
• Chance to move up to a gang leader post

• Be ready to do a short practical test on site. Arrive early with your own tools if you have them.
• Bring photos of your work on your phone. A foreman believes a straight wall more than a long CV.
