Job Description

Hard outdoor work on a townhouse construction site in Alberton, with a chance to learn a trade while you earn. This role rewards consistency more than flash.

You'll be based at a townhouse construction site in Alberton. Living nearby, or on a taxi route to it, really helps. Overtime comes up in peak season and is paid.

What your day looks like

Clean tools, mixers and wheelbarrows at the end of each day
Erect and strip shutters and simple scaffolding under supervision
Help offload deliveries of steel, timber and pipes
Carry bricks, blocks and cement bags to where the bricklayers work
Sign the daily safety talk register before work starts
Clear rubble and load it into skips

Must-haves

Able to follow instructions from a foreman or artisan
A clean record is preferred for some government sites
Physically strong and fit for outdoor work in all weather
Grade 8 or higher

Nice if you have

Living near the site (many projects hire local labour)
Previous site work you can show with a reference
Registered on your ward or municipal job-seeker database

On offer

Paid weekly or fortnightly
Overtime on weekend pours and deadline days
Learn from artisans with a chance to move up to assistant
